Take advantage of onsite BioFitness Screenings program designed to help you understand your current fitness level and set personalized health goals. Our assessments go beyond the scale to give real insight into body composition and performance.

BioFitness Screenings that measure lean muscle mass, fat percentage, and water weight are important because they provide a more complete and accurate picture of your health and fitness than just body weight or BMI alone. Here's why each matters:


🔍 1. Lean Muscle Mass (IMPORTANT for GLP-1 users)

  • Why it matters: Muscle supports your metabolism, strength, and daily function. Gaining muscle improves overall strength, balance, stability, coordination, and reaction time, even if your weight doesn’t change. As we age we lose muscle. Additionally, with the rise in use of GLP-1 drugs muscle lose is one of the most common if not the most common side affect.  
  • What it tells you: Are you building strength? Do you have adequate muscle on your body for your age and gender?  Are you losing fat or muscle when dieting?

  • Why it matters: This helps distinguish between fat loss and muscle loss — crucial for anyone trying to change their body composition for overall health and functional purposes. 
  • What it tells you: Whether you’re improving body composition, not just weight.

  • Why it matters: Hydration affects energy, performance, and even scale weight. Dehydration can skew fitness progress.
  • What it tells you: If you're retaining excess water or not drinking enough. It helps normalize weight fluctuations.

You have a few options:

  • 90 Day Health Improvement Program - Enroll in our 90 Day Health Improvement Program (Weight Loss, Blood Pressure Management, or Diabetes Management) 
  • Nutrition Counseling (FREE) - Meet with our registered dietitian to help with your diet and healthy eating needs.
  • Personal Training - Hire our personal training to help you reach your fitness goals.

Preparing for Your Screening

To get the most accurate results during your body composition screening and to help us stay on schedule and provide the best experience for everyone, please review the following:

  • ⏰ Arrive on time — being more than 5 minutes late may result in your appointment being cancelled.
  • 🧪 Screening only — this session includes the test and a very brief overview of your results. There will be no extended consultation during this appointment.
  • ⏳ Appointments are quick — each screening will last no longer than 10 minutes. 
  • Hydrate well the day before and the day of your screening. Dehydration can affect results.
  • Avoid heavy meals, caffeine, or alcohol at least 2–4 hours before your appointment.
  • Wear light, comfortable clothing — ideally without metal zippers, belts, or jewelry.
  • Limit strenuous exercise for several hours before the test, as it can temporarily change hydration levels.
  • You must remove your shoes and socks during the screening
  • If you have a pacemaker, are pregnant, or have medical restrictions, we require your physicians consent in writing at the time of the test.
     

Following these steps helps ensure your body composition measurement is as accurate and useful as possible.
